The Turks and Caicos Islands have a tropical marine climate, and trade winds ensure that throughout the year, temperatures remain comfortably warm. Relatively sunny and dry, there is little seasonal variation and between June and October the temperature ranges between 85°F and 90°F (29°C and 32°C), varying only slightly in winter. The water temperature is almost that of the air, ensuring pleasant swimming and diving for visitors. On average, the islands have about 350 days of sunshine a year, making travel to the Turks and Caicos Islands possible nearly all year round, though hurricanes are sometimes possible between June and October. The westerly islands tend to have the highest annual rainfall of the group.
